White: I know for sure GSP will be back
Dana White: “I know for a fact he will (return)…Is it fun for Georges St-Pierre to be gone? I mean, no, I wouldn’t say that it’s fun for him to be gone.”
After defending this welterweight title against Johny Hendricks, Georges St-Pierre announced he would be taking a hiatus from the sport. This lead many to speculate as to whether or not St-Pierre would ever return to the sport, but UFC President Dana White is 100% confident he will:
St-Pierre recently teased fight fans by stating “don’t blink” when asked about the possibility of an eventual comeback. Although when asked on Thursday, White’s answer was far more unequivocal.
“I know for a fact he will (return),” White said.
“Is it fun for Georges St-Pierre to be gone? I mean, no, I wouldn’t say that it’s fun for him to be gone. But the welterweight division is exciting right now, and when Georges does come back, whoever’s standing there, it will be a fun fight.”
