White: I don’t see how Conor wins
Dana White: “I don’t see how he wins this fight. He’s the 145-pound champion. He can stay in his own lane. This guy is moving up to 155 to take on an animal.”

In a recent interview with FOX, UFC president Dana White says he doesn’t see how Conor McGregor beats UFC lightweight champion in Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 196.
“I don’t see how he wins this fight,” said White, as transcribed by Anton Tabuena for BE. “He’s the 145-pound champion. He can stay in his own lane.”
“This guy is moving up to 155 to take on an animal, who destroyed Cowboy Cerrone, destroyed Anthony Pettis. And this isn’t boxing, where you move up two or three pounds. You move up 15 pounds!”
Technically, White is right about boxing. There are in fact six weight divisions separated by three pounds. And technically, he is right about MMA. There are three Unified Rules weight divisions separated by 15 pounds. It is a little less stark around McGregor’s division – the move from featherweight to lightweight is 10 pounds. The boxing divisions around that weight are separated by 6-8 pounds.
That said, whatever the numbers, Conor McGregor moving up to fight the guy who just smashed Donald Cerrone and Anthony Pettis is one giant step.
