Earlier this month news surfaced that Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua had turned down an offer to fight Glover Teixeira, a recent addition the UFC light heavyweight roster. At the time, his camp suggested they wanted to go over all avaiable options.
Yeah, he said he’d actually rather be cut, than to have to fight him. Dude, nobody wants to fight this guy. Nobody wants to fight this guy. We’re trying to match this guy up with somebody, but he didn’t mind fighting Brandon Vera. So, he’s fighting Brandon Vera.
The media and fans immediately jumped on the UFC President for airing the discussion between himself and Shogun’s team. White, who is always outspoken, immediately, and in a way only he can, defended his decision, posting on the Underground from the MMA Underground iPhone app:
