White: ‘Badass’ Duffy striking is literally perfect
Dana White. “I look at Joe Duffy now. Duffy today is a well-rounded, explosive finisher – a guy whose stand up is literally perfect.”

UFC lightweight Joe Duffy has had two fights in the UFC, lasting less that one round in total. His third fight is a main event vs. Dustin Poirer at UFC Fight Night 76 in Dublin, Ireland. Fourth fight could be against Conor McGregor.
The hottest UFC fighter that is not female is on a 14-fight win streak, and it started after November 27, 2010, when Duffy tapped out McGregor in the first.
However, UFC president Dana White spoke with Matt Parrino for UFC.com’s weekly The Download, and declared that Duffy is a badass in his own right, and doesn’t need to be tethered to McGregor.
I don’t even point to Duffy beating Conor because they fought a long time ago when they were younger, said White. I look at Duffy now. Duffy today is a well-rounded, explosive finisher – a guy whose stand up is literally perfect.
This is a really good test for Duffy because Dustin Poirier looks great at 155. He said he feels stronger, healthier, and he’s been on a tear at 155. It’s a big fight for both guys.
To do Croke Park we’re going to need Conor and Duffy to do that one. I think it’s incredible that these guys want to fight there. I think it’s incredible that the fans want it so bad, and I want it as bad as they want it, too.
