UFC president Dana White spoke with Megan Olivi shortly after UFC Fight Night 104 and recapped the most notable fights on the card, including Jessica Andrade vs. Angela Hil.
In the women’s division, that’s one of the greatest fights you’ll ever see, said White, as transcribed by Shaun Al-Shatti for MMA Fighting. That fight was incredible. Both girls were getting hit with bombs. Knees, elbows, punches. What a great fight, and that’s absolutely ‘Fight of the Night.’ I said after that fight, if that’s not ‘Fight of the Night,’ we’re in for one hell of a night.
White also said that Andrade “absolutely” was next in line to fight strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejcyk.
When you see the way she fought tonight, just imagine those two squaring off and the absolute war that will be, said White. That’s going to be a fun fight.
Andrade, 25, struggled at bantamweight, but is massive at 115, stopping Jessica Penne and Joanne Calderwood and then battering a tremendously game Hill on Saturday.

Prior to the fight, Hill took issue with the placement of the bout on the card. While Felice Herrig vs. Alexa Grasso was the co-main, Andrade vs. Hill was just 6th, something Hill attributed to a perceived bias towards particularly mediagenic fighters like Herrig. Hill argued that the fight with title implications was Andrade vs. Hill. She ended up being right.
