When it was announced that the price for UFC 168, was going up by $5, some fans felt stretched. Despite the extraordinary co main events with Chris Weidman vs. Anderson Silva and Ronda Rousey vs. Miesha Tate, a $59.95 High Def price tag felt like a lot.

Floyd Mayweather vs. Canelo Alvarez was $64.95 for regular TV and $74.95 for High Def, but that’s boxing.

UFC President Dana White addressed the issue at the UFC on FOX 9 post-fight media scrum, noting that he was not involved in the decision.

It’s five bucks, said. Get a couple more friends and have them come over.

White was asked why the price was being raised, White replied matter of factly.

‘Cuz, he said.

It’s just for that fight. Some guys got together in the office and decided to do that.
