White: 168 will be biggest UFC PPV ever

The UFC 167 20th anniversary card on November 16 will be huge, with the promotions’ #1 (GSP) and #2 (Chael Sonnen) PPV draws both fighting on the same card. However, UFC president Dana White says that UFC 168 on Dec. 28 will be bigger still. In fact, White says UFC 168 will be the biggest PPV in the league’s history.

At UFC 168, middleweight champion Chris Weidman will fight former champion Anderson Silva, and UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey will fight bitter, bitter give-her-the-finger-all-the-time rival Miesha Tate, following a season of TUF.

“Georges St-Pierre is our biggest pay-per-view star,” said White during a recent UFN 31 con call, as transcribed by MMAMania. “Chael Sonnen argues with me and disagrees with me, of course because he’s on the card, and Georges St. Pierre is obviously the biggest star we have in pay-per-view, but I think 168 will beat it. As we get closer, you get more of a feeling on what you’re going to do. I know this is a bold prediction, but I think 168 is going to be the biggest pay-per-view we’ve ever done.”

In order to be the biggest PPV ever, UFC 168 will have to beat UFC 100:

Although official figures were never released, UFC 100 is believed to have gotten about 1,500,000 PPV buys.

The math is pretty simple.
