Weidman vs. Rockhold at UFC 194 on Dec. 12

Dana White: “Rockhold is big, he’s strong, he’s a great grappler, he’s got good hands, he’s got kicks, knees, everything you want … Weidman’s the same kind of guy.”

The UFC is building a third mega card for the 2015.

Middleweight champion Chris Weidman will fight Luke Rockhold at UFC 194 on Dec. 12 at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas, Nevada. The co-main will be a featherweight unification fight between champion Jose Aldo and interim champion Conor McGregor.

Both the McGregor headlined UFC 189 and the Ronda Rousey headlined UFC 190 broke 1,000,000 PPV buys. UFC 194 clearly has the potential to do so as well. Should that happen, it will be the first time in league history that three shows broke 1,000,000 buys in a single year.

“This is going to be another massive card,” said UFC president Dana White to Kevin Iole for Yahoo Sports. “This will kind of be like the Robbie Lawler-Rory MacDonald fight was to the main event on UFC 189. This fight to me is incredible. I really like this fight. Rockhold is big, he’s strong, he’s a great grappler, he’s got good hands, he’s got kicks, knees, everything you want. If you want to know how good he is, look at what he did to [former light heavyweight champion Lyoto] Machida [in April]. Oh my God.

“But what makes this fight so interesting is, Weidman’s the same kind of guy. He’s got all the same kinds of attributes as Rockhold.”

We’ll be watching.
