Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman is recovering from neck surgery, but will be using the time to reunite with former manager Ian Parker as a full-fledged partner to help develop the MMA-themed Cage Hero comic book franchise.
Once we came up with our mantra: ‘The hero comes from within,’ we were really looking for someone that was the whole package, said Parker, Cage Hero’s co-creator, to Matt Connolly for Forbes. Chris represents exactly the type of fighter we wanted for the brand.
Parker made Cage Hero alongside Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman, and is backed by Surge,TMNT’s licensing/production team.
