Today the Nevada State Athletic Commision released the salaries for the top three bouts of tonight’s UFC 168:
Chris Weidman: $200,000 (plus a potential win bonus of $200,000)
vs. Anderson Silva: $600,000 (plus a potential win bonus of $200,000)
Ronda Rousey: $50,000 (plus a potential win bonus of $50,000)
vs. Miesha Tate: $28,000 (plus a potential win bonus of $28,000)
Josh Barnett: $170,000 (no win bonus)
vs. Travis Browne: $28,000 (plus a potential win bonus of $28,000)
The number most interesting is Chris Weidman’s who only made $24k/$24k in the first match with Anderson Silva. Weidman chose to gamble and fight the last fight of his contract versus Silva, which paid off with a huge increase for this fight.
Silva’s pay structure stayed the same as his last fight with Weidman, which is standard in UFC contracts for fighters who lose their bout.
