Campuzano and Wheeler each cashed in as the evening’s “Fight of the Night” for their card-opening brawl, while Faber earned the “Submission of the Night” bonus for his third-frame choke-out of Raphael Assuncao. No fighters lost consciousness on the ten-fight card, and consequently, no fighters picked up extra change for a “Knockout of the Night” bonus.

The bonuses that were issued were worth $10,000 each.

In the night’s first preliminary card matchup, Campuzano and Wheeler fought toe-to-toe for 15 minutes. Wheeler simply couldn’t take his opponent to the floor, and Campuzano made him pay with devastating punches, crowd-pleasing flying knees and several flashy high kicks. Despite absorbing an obscene amount of damage, Wheeler refused to stop moving forward.

WEC 46 drew 10,027 fans, for a live gate of $550,000, according to Reed Harris at the post fight press con.
