WEC 46 ratings: Audience increases by 94 percent, 640,000 viewers tune in

With a star-studded card that featured a title-unification bout between Benson Henderson and Jamie Varner, WEC 46 on Versus experienced a ratings increase of 94 percent and drew a total audience of 640,000 viewers, MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today confirmed with TV executives.

The organization’s most recent show, WEC 45, drew just 330,000 viewers last month.

The event, which also featured hometown star Urijah Faber in the co-headliner, drew an audience of 10,027 for an estimated $550,000 live gate. Notables Mike Brown, Raphael Assuncao and Kamal Shalorus were also featured on the Versus-televised main card. Henderson submitted Varner in the main event.

The ratings bump is good news for the WEC, which concluded 2009 with fairly flat ratings.
