World Extreme Cagefighting on Thursday officially announced its return to Las Vegas. WEC 42, at The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, will feature a main event pitting current bantamweight champion Miguel Torrez in defense of his title against Brian Bowles. A supporting bout with feature Jeff Curran facing Takaya Mizugaki in another 135-pound divisional bout.

Torres and Bowles were originally slated to face each other at WEC 40 on April 5 in Chicago. That was before Bowles has to bow out due to a back injury. Torres instead faced Mizugaki in what turned out to be an instant fight of the year candidate, defending his belt with a tough five-round unanimous decision victory.

Having won all five of his WEC bouts thus far and ranked No. 1 in the world at bantamweight, Torres is once again scheduled to defend against the No. 2 ranked Bowles.
