Refereeing is generally an unheralded job, but an important one. The number one job of a referee is to keep a fighter’s safety in mind, something apparently this referee is horrible at.

At tonight’s Bellator 113, Danielle Gallamore clearly hurt Freddy Brown and continued to pummel him for what seemed entirely too long before the referee decided to intervene.

Brown was clearly out on this feet from strikes, so the referee should have been poised to stop the fight. In a matter of fact, it likely should have been stopped before Brown even hit the ground. It’s unfortunate that it happened and we hope that Brown is doing well.
