War Pigs opens: Liddell hoping for non mean, tough film roles

UFC Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell’s first movie role was as a boy scout in The Postman Always Rings Twice. He was 11.
Every role since, including commercials for Miller Lite and Duralast Brakes, he has played a mean, tough guy.
In a recent appearance on MMAjunkie Radio, Liddell, now 45 and pursuing an acting career, revealed he is hoping for some kinder, gentler roles.

I’m kind of a laid-back guy, but a mean, aggressive guy is what I’m asked to do all the time. That’s a normal acting role for me.
It’s doing something that I’m not real comfortable with yet. But I keep working hard at it – and I keep working with people on it – and I’m trying to perform well.
Liddell appeared with Mickey Rourke and Dolph Lundgren in the documentary ‘War Pigs’ which opens this weekend nationwide.
It’s kind of cool doing a movie with (Lundgren), said Liddell. I’m not the fan guy; I don’t like bothering people, so I usually don’t even come up and say him. But a lot of them are fans of me, so it’s nice to have that mutual respect.
