Wand: Criticism spurred UFC to share uniform revenue
Wanderlei Silva: “If they do it the way they’re saying they’ll going it, with the athletes making more money, then it means our movement is having its effects.”

Last week the UFC announced a landmark deal with Reebok for official apparel and that it would share all of the revenue with it’s athletes. Recently banned fighter Wanderlei Silva believes his criticism of the UFC in the media influenced that decision:
Wanderlei Silva is claiming a victory of sorts in the wake of the UFC’s new uniform deal with Reebok. The retired fighter said his complaints about the promotion’s business practices is spurring change.
If they do it the way they’re saying they’ll going it, with the athletes making more money, then it means our movement is having its effects, Silva (35-12-1 MMA, 5-7 UFC) said in a new video posted on his official YouTube page. They can see that maybe it’s not working, and maybe they’ve decided to do things differently, and hopefully they’ll start paying the athletes better. It’s a good attitude they’re taking, and I hope this is a good thing for the athletes.
