STEP ONE in world trollination: Get pissed off with M-1 Global
UFC veteran Vinny Magalhaes won the M-1 light heavyweight belt last April and defended it in October, but then found himself in a long, public squabble with M-1 management. He and M-1 director of operations Evgeni Kogan have exchanged nasty insults over Twitter after Magalhaes was not happy with the fights the Russian-based promotion was making, and Kogan supposedly coached one of Magalhaes’ opponents from ringside, a huge no-no for a promoter who should be unbiased.
Since Magalhaes said he is through his contract and wants to move on from the promotion, he has no reason to hold on to the belt.
STEP TWO: Put title belt on EBay, announce on UG.

Bidding was at $99,999, with over a week to go, but the item has now been withdrawn. Maghalaes announced via Twitter that the belt sold for $100,000.

The auction went live yesterday and started at under one dollar with an offer of free shipping. It quickly exceeded even Magalhaes’ wildest expectations, topping $20,000 in a few hours.
Concerns were raised that the numbers may have been bumped up by fake bids, either from trolls or from friends of the M-1 organisation.
But inspection of some of the big-number bidders’ accounts showed that there were definitely some legitimate entities in there. Among them was a sports memorabilia dealer, who was the first bidder to take the auction over the $90,000 mark.
Shortly afterwards the auction was closed, and it is thought that an arrangement may have been reached with this particular dealer.
