Vanessa Demopoulos (8-4 MMA, 2-1 UFC) admits her UFC on ESPN 38 clash with Jinh Yu Frey didn’t go exactly as planned, but the UFC strawweight says she never once doubted her hand would be raised in victory.
While Demopoulos is known as a grappling specialist, she was forced to stand and trade at this past weekend’s event, but the gritty work on the feet was enough to earn her a split-decision result after 15 hard-fought minutes.
Demopoulos recounted the victory with MMA Underground’s John Morgan and also looked ahead to her role on the ground in Las Vegas to help cover International Fight Week for UFC Fight Pass, while also discussing her future plans, which include a family vacation to Greece before she gets back in the cage.
