This past Saturday in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Spartacus Arena played host to Spartacus MMA 9. The main event was a bantamweight matchup between Leosvaldo Alves (8-4) vs. Jandickson Pereira (6-3), and you can view the contest in its entirety, courtesy of Spartacus MMA.
Here’s the description, according to Spartacus MMA:
Leosvaldo was making his entrance to a song called “Smokehold” which was exclusively written for the fighter by his longtime supporters: San Francisco beatmaker Gummy Beatz and Long Beach, California rapper Cemepka Cemepka.
That song got Leo so amped up, he jumped into the fight recklessly with a takedown attempt but faced strong defensive skills from Jandickson. Once the clinch stopped, the two started pitching like crazy, but both have chins on them, so the two danced tango the full distance. Leo Alves scored a majority decision win, which he deserved.
Spartacus MMA is the first project in the martial arts industry created entirely on a digital platform.
The upstart organization promises the “Uberization of mixed martial arts,” and anyone can download the app. Fighters register in the system and challenge each other, and as soon as the opponent accepts the challenge, the fight immediately enters the card of the next event.
