August 12 will see the third installment of the United Fight League and it is set to be the most exciting event yet. Alongside some feature bouts on the card, we will also witness our 10 semifinalists battle it out to earn their spot not only on the finals but also for the chance to make history by becoming the inaugural UFL champions in their division at UFL 4 on December 16.
The grand prix semifinals will feature the men’s bantamweight, featherweight, welterweight and middleweight divisions, plus we’ll see a highly anticipated female bantamweight semifinal featuring four of the most exciting athletes to step inside the UFL cage.
There are many world class matchups featured on the UFL card, but one that has particularly caught the eyes of fans is the rematch between middleweight contenders Ty Gwerder and Shane Sobnosky Jr.
Sobnosky Jr. holds a potential “Knockout of the Year” over Gwerder on Freedom Fight Night 2, a KO that sits fresh in the mind of Gwerder, who will want to make the most of his chance to get revenge against the UFL fan favorite Sobnosky Jr.
Another bracket to keep an eye on is the men’s bantamweight semifinals, which also pits two UFL 1 fighters up against each other in the form of Amun “Moon” Cosme vs. Valodia “Predator” Aivazian.
Aivazian earned his spot in the semifinals with a huge comeback KO in the third round against ever-tough New Jersey fighter Phil Caracappa.
Cosme made much lighter work of his quarterfinal fight as it took him just 52 seconds to dispatch of his opponent Jackson Santa Cruz with a performance that not only saw him claim his semifinal place but also, because he finished the fight in the first round, earned him a sponsorship deal with F3 Energy for this fight camp.
Legacy Park (formerly the Bell Bank Park) was host to UFL 1, and it was the start of the grand prix journey for many of our competing athletes, and August 12, it will once again open its doors in anticipation of another great night of fights in the promotion’s home state of Arizona.
For those unable to attend in person we will once gain be streaming live and for free on Rumble. We are proud to have made history on this platform as the first live sporting event ever streamed on rumble, and in our first two events, we were watched by over half a million viewers.
