Details are rolling out for the third installment of the “UFC Undisputed” videogame franchise, set for a January 2012 debut

While many MMA fans are looking forward to the release because of the addition of the UFC’s bantamweight and featherweight divisions, as well as a “PRIDE rules” game-play option and fighter walkouts, THQ is also making additional tweaks to gameplay.

The video starts with the game’s new fighter walk-in sequences, and then outlines a number of changes to the game:

Updated gameplay options that allow for simpler controls to the sometimes-complex title,

New positions and animations;

Anew submission system;

New positions such as a standing guillotine choke and seated positions against the cage;

Fighters can now sway on the floor to avoid damage: and,

Fights conclude with a FightMetric-style data presentation.

The “UFC Undisputed 3” YouTube channel features additional teaser footage.
