Recently, MMAnytt.se learned through sources close to the UFC that they will hold a show in Sweden on November 5 this year… After further investigation, I found that both arenas and in Malmo and Stockholm are of interest to the UFC. Kimuragänget has now confirmed with Marshall Zelaznik that it probably will be the fifth of November, and that the UFC have several dates and venues open.
It has long been known that Sweden is a good market for MMA. Shooters founder August Wallen confirmed this in my interview with him, noting that Sweden is third in Europe when it comes to going on live shows. Only the British and the Germans attend more.
I have repeatedly been given the chance to talk to the UFC about Swedish fighters that could be used. I have not received any clear answers, but rumor has it there will be three Swedish fighters on the show…
