In addition to streaming on Facebook, the first five preliminary-card bouts from Saturday’s UFC 131 card also will stream for free on YouTube.
Sources told MMAjunkie.com the organization simply wanted to widen its audience, reach non-Facebook users, and provide another platform that’s very mobile-device-friendly.
YouTube never previously has streamed UFC events, but back in April, the video-sharing giant announced its intention to stream live concerts, interviews and sporting events. The UFC is one of the first sports organization to take advantage of the technology.
