After a four-year run, Zuffa LLC is skipping its usual March event slot in Columbus, Ohio.
Ultimate Fighting Championship president Dana White today confirmed that the organization won’t return to the Buckeye State for the usual Arnold Sports Festival weekend show.
The UFC took the annual spot from 2007-2009, and the World Extreme Cagefighting took it this year.
“We’re definitely not (going to Columbus) this year,” said White, referring to 2011.
The past shows benefited from the Arnold Sports Festival, a three-day sports and fitness expo that draws tens of thousands of people each year. Ohio Athletic Commission executive director Bernie Profato often calls the Arnolds and the UFC shows “a perfect marriage” in professional sports.
