UFC refutes report they withheld $6 million payout to Silva after failed drug test
The UFC has flatly denied a report from a Brazilian website that the UFC has withheld $6,000,000 from Anderson Silva after he failed a drug test.

Anderson Silva was the long time middleweight champion and one of the UFC’s highest paid athletes. But after failing a drug test at UFC 183, it seems as though he may not only have taken a hit to his legacy, but also his bank account:
Anderson Silva’s February is going from bad to worse, it seems.
According to Brazilian sports website Veja.com.br (via Bloody Elbow’s Fernando Arbex), the UFC has blocked a 16 million Brazilian Real payment (approximately $6 million USD) to the former middleweight champion because of Silva’s failed drug test ahead of UFC 183.
However, in a statement released to MMAjunkie, the UFC flatly denied the report: The financial reports made by Veja.com are not true.
The statement was repeated by UFC VP for Public Relations Dave Sholler, who tweeted “These reports are not true.”
