With a hard-fought victory at this past weekend’s UFC Fight Night 211, Yan Xiaonan was rewarded with a slight move up the promotion’s official strawweight rankings.
In the latest official rankings, Yan (16-3 MMA, 7-2 UFC) moves just past the women she beat by majority decision, Mackenzie Dern (12-3 MMA, 7-3 UFC), settling into the No. 5 slot, leaving her in prime position to book a marquee matchup in her next outing.
Reigning champ Carl Esparza is slated to take on the No. 2-ranked former champ Zhang Weili at UFC 281 on Nov. 12.
