While both Yair Rodriguez and Brian Ortega had hoped to deliver an all-time classic, their UFC on ABC 3 headliner ended a bit prematurely when “T-City” suffered a shoulder injury. Still, the fight goes down as a TKO win for Rodriguez, and he was rewarded in this week’s official UFC featherweight rankings.
With the result, Rodriguez (14-3 MMA, 9-2 UFC) slides up one spot to No. 2 on the list at 145 pounds, with Ortega (15-3 MMA, 7-3 UFC) slipping below “El Pantera” at No. 3.
Josh Emmett also slides down one spot to No. 4, as he had been deadlocked with Rodriguez at No. 3 in the previous week’s list.
