At just 25 years old, Song Yadong continues to impress, and following his latest victory, “The Kung Fu Kid” moved up to No. 7 in the latest UFC official rankings update.

Yadong (20-7-1 MMA, 9-2-1 UFC) was ahead on the judges’ cards in the main event of UFC Fight Night 223 but continued to push the pace and scored a fifth-round stoppage of Ricky Simon (20-4 MMA, 8-3 UFC) in their headlining matchup.

With the win, Yadong passes future UFC Hall of Famer Dominick Cruz, who slides down to No. 8. Meanwhile, Simon stayed firm at No. 10 despite the setback.
