UFC rankings: Massive shake-up at light heavyweight with Jamahal Hill claiming title, Johnny Walker impressing
With Hill’s big win over Glover Teixeira in Brazil, as well as Walker’s win over Paul Craig, movement abounds at 205 pounds.
The UFC’s first pay-per-view of 2023 featured a pair of impactful light heavyweight fights, including crowning a new champion, and the results meant major movement for the official rankings at 205 pounds.
In the latest update, Jamahal Hill ascends to the champion spot, while Glover Teixeira drops three spots to No. 5, though if his announced retirement sticks, the 43-year-old former champion will be removed from the list.
Meanwhile, Johnny Walker makes a big move following his impressive first-round stoppage over Paul Craig, rising four spots to take the No. 8 position. Meanwhile, Craig drops two spots and now sits at No. 11.
Crowning a new champion also created a slot for a new contender to the top 15, allowing Dustin Jacoby to return to the list in the No. 15 position.
