After each event, the UFC polls various members of the media to update its rankings in each weight division as well as the pound for pound rankings.
This past weekend the UFC held two events, UFC Fight Night 55 in Sydney Australia in UFC Fight Night 56 in Brazil. Although more than twenty fights occurred between both events, only a few had meaning for divisional rankings:
LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT
Champion : Jon Jones
1 Alexander Gustafsson
2 Daniel Cormier
3 Anthony Johnson
4 Rashad Evans
5 Phil Davis
6 Glover Teixeira
7 Ryan Bader +1
8 Dan Henderson -1
9 Ovince Saint Preux +1
10 Jimi Manuwa -1
11 Mauricio Rua -2
12 Rafael Cavalcante
13 Antonio Rogerio Nogueira
14 Fabio Maldonado
15 Vitor Belfort
Ovince Saint Preux had the biggest win of the weekend defeating Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua as a short notice replacement. Saint Preux however only moved up one spot, as Ryan Bader who was ranked above him defeating him in his last fight. Shogun dropped two spots with the loss.
The other meaningful bout saw Luke Rockhold defeat Michael Bisping, but neither fighter moved in their division rankings. Rockhold stayed at sixth and Bisping at ninth.
