After gutting out a hard-fought decision win over a previously unbeaten Askar Askarov, Kai Kara-France is now No. 2 in the latest UFC flyweight rankings.
Kara-France (24-9 MMA, 7-2 UFC) started slow against the vaunted wrestler but was able to claim the final two rounds on all three cards to take home the decision win at this past weekend’s UFC on ESPN 33.
Kara-France believes he’s done enough to earn a crack at the UFC flyweight title, and current champion Deiveson Figueiredo agrees, though it remains to be seem what the promotion will elect to do, with brass seemingly leaning toward the titleholder taking a fourth fight with Brandon Moreno.
