Josh Emmett is hoping for a title shot soon, and with his latest position in the UFC’s official featherweight rankings, he might find himself there very soon.
Emmett (18-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC) earned a razor-thin split-decision win over Calvin Kattar (23-6 MMA, 7-4 UFC) at this past weekend’s UFC on ESPN 37 event, and he was rewarded for his efforts with the No. 4 position in the latest list, moving up three spots from his previous slot, while Kattar, Chan Sung Jung and Arnold Allen each drop one spot.
Emmett is hoping to book a matchup with the winner of next month’s UFC 276 clash between reigning champion Alexander Volkanovksi and former titleholder Max Holloway.
