Following her historic submission win over Amanda Lemos (11-2-1 MMA, 5-2 UFC) at this past weekend’s UFC Fight Night 205 event, former strawweight champion Jessica Andrade (23-9 MMA, 14-7 UFC) returns to the division’s rankings, where she was given the No. 5 position in the latest official UFC rankings.
Lemos, who had enjoyed a five-fight winning streak prior to the setback, didn’t slip any further down the list that the single position necessitated by Andrade’s return.
Interestingly, Andrade was remains eligible for ranking in the flyweight division now – and she has expressed a willingness to continue take fights at 125 pounds – but she dropped two spots, falling from No. 1 to No. 3, with Katlyn Chookagian and Lauren Murphy each benefitting from the drop by moving up one slot.
