The UFC will give another shot at showing live events on the big screen, hoping a stacked UFC 121 fight card will help attract MMA fans.

Perhaps the UFC theorizes that people will be intrigued to see heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar fight No. 1 contender Cain Velasquez. Lesnar uses an extremely rare blend of sheer brute force and lighting fast reflexes to smash through opponents, with some doubting whether or not Velasquez will be able to withstand it for 25 minutes.

After UFC 115, an event also shown at movie theaters, Dave Meltzer discussed the relatively lackluster sales figures for the event at theaters. There are a few different reasons behind the unspectacular attendance at movie theaters. The UFC, however, is still an expanding organization and this kind of market experimentation is essential if they are to maximise growth and reach out to as many consumers as possible.
