LAS VEGAS – MMA Underground was on scene and reporting live from Friday’s official UFC Fight Night 223 fighter weigh-ins, where two fighters missed weight, but the full lineup of 11 fights was made official.

The weigh-ins took place at the UFC Apex. The same venue hosts Saturday’s card, which streams in its entirety on ESPN+.

In the night’s main event, bantamweight contenders collide with an eye on moving up in the division, as No. 8-ranked Song Yadong (19-7-1 MMA, 8-2-1 UFC) takes on the No. 10-ranked Ricky Simon (20-3 MMA, 8-2 UFC). Both made weight without issue.

The fighters who missed weight included Irina Alekseeva (4-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC), who registered 140 pounds for her bantamweight matchup with Stephanie Egger (8-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC), as well as Hailey Cowan (7-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC), who was 137.5 pounds for her clash with Jamey-Lyn Horth (5-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC).

Alekseeva was fined 30 percent of her purse, and Cowan received a 20 percent fine, but both bouts will go on as scheduled.
