LAS VEGAS – MMA Underground was on scene and reporting live from Friday’s official UFC Fight Night 212 fighter weigh-ins, where one fight was scratched before the athletes hit the scales.

The weigh-ins took place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The same venue hosts Saturday’s card, which streams on ESPN+.

Among those weighing in were the night’s headliners, No. 5-ranked women’s flyweight contender Alexa Grasso (14-3 MMA, 6-3 UFC) and No. 6 Viviane Araujo (11-3 MMA, 5-2 UFC). The two women were the first fighters on the scale and made weight without issue.

Unfortunately, another featured flyweight matchup between ranked contenders Askar Askarov (14-1-1 MMA, 3-1-1 UFC) and Brandon Royval (14-6 MMA, 4-2 UFC) was called off before the fighters had a chance to hit the stage. “Weight management issues” were cited by UFC officials as the culprit for Askarov, and the bout was called off.

The full UFC Fight Night 212 weigh-in results include:

MAIN CARD (ESPN+, 7 p.m. ET)

PRELIMINARY CARD (ESPN+, 4 p.m. ET)

* Vergara missed weight by 3 pounds and was fined 30 percent of his purse, but the bout will go on as scheduled.
