PHOENIX – UFC 274 took place Saturday at Footprint Center in Phoenix.
In the night’s main event, Charles Oliveira (33-8 MMA, 21-8 UFC), who was not eligible to win the UFC lightweight title due to missing weight at Friday’s official weigh-ins, took on challenger Justin Gaethje (23-4 MMA, 6-4 UFC), surviving an early barrage of strikes to come back and submit “The Highlight” in the opening frame.
A planned main card matchup between veterans Donald Cerrone (36-16 MMA, 23-13 UFC) and Joe Lauzon (28-15 MMA, 15-12 UFC).was called off during the night’s prelims, with UFC officials reporting a “nonCOVD-19 related illness.”
