ESPN‘s well-connected Brett Okamoto reports that former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate will fight Raquel Pennington at UFC 205. The league’s triumphant return to New York after more than 20 years takes place on November 12, 2016 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York.

Tate is the #1 ranked contender, while Pennington is #8. Tate is coming off the loss of her title to Amanda Nunes at UFC 200 July 9, 2016. Prior to that, she had been on a five-fight win streak.

Pennington, 28, is on a three-fight win streak, over Jessica Andrade, Bethe Correia, and most recently Elizabeth Phillips. Her fight before that was a split decision loss to Holly Holm, who went on to win the title.
