Pre fight press con highlights from Mike Fagan’s twitter:
Ortiz: I’m approaching this like any other fight. Thinking about getting my hand raised.I wonder why Dana isn’t here.
Bader: I was getting by with a certain skill set. The loss to Jones made me go back to the drawing board.
Cruz: I’m ready for questions about my loss to Faber to stop.Faber: I walk around heavier at 135 pounds.
Silva: I can’t believe how much the sport has changed in the 1.5 years I’ve been off.
Leben: I hope (Wanderlei is taking me lightly). I’m training like this guy’s trying to destroy me to prove he’s Wanderlei Silva.
Silva: I fight for KO, Fight of the Night.
Leben: I watched Wanderlei 10 years ago. I didn’t want to fight him 10 years ago.
Ortiz: I watch Georges St. Pierre all the time. He’s dead amazing.
Faber: I remember watching Ortiz in high school. Impressed with Tito’s charisma, thinking Wanderlei is going to kill everyone.
Silva: It’s more comfortable to fight in Vegas. I sleep in my own bed. My students, my family come out.
Leben: We are entertainers. I hate watching guys who fight not to lose. I’m going to try to beat him.
Tito (to Ariel): I never said he said weak wrestling. Why are you trying to start s—?
I remember Leben sounding slurry before the Stann fight, but he sounds good now.
Ortiz: I learned this in high school, rankings don’t mean s—. I don’t pay attention to the betting board.
Ortiz: I just want to show that I’m still a dominant force in the LHW division.
Leben: I’m a grunt. I’d probably be putting up a roof or framing if I wasn’t a fighter.
