The UFC is to stage a UFC Expo in Boston this August, running across the same weekend that will play host to UFC 118. The expo will begin on Saturday August 27th and conclude on Sunday 28th. It will be the first time that the UFC has visited Boston and the first time that an event such as the UFC Expo has been laid on for fans.
Turnout is expected to be huge; industry sources say that East Coast is a passionate MMA fan base that will jump at the chance to attend this event. Fans are expected to travel from New York and Canada as well as the wider New England and Massachusetts area.
The UFC is to stage its second annual Las Vegas Expo later this month, coinciding with UFC 114 and the Rashad Evans-Quinton ’Rampage’ Jackson’ showdown. Aside from trade stands the expo offers all manner of UFC-related fun and activities for fans and the Boston Expo is expected to follow this format.
Demand for stands at the Boston Expo is expected to be massive and one source we spoke to expects them to sell out even faster than the ones available in Las Vegas as MMA companies scramble to place themselves in the path of UFC-hungry hordes.
