Spike TV on Wednesday released the ratings for Saturday night’s telecast of UFC 116 Prelims Live. The show drew an audience of 1.3 million viewers, slightly lower than the 1.5 million viewers UFC 115 Prelims Live averaged on June 12.
Brendan Schaub, already a Spike TV regular from his stint on the tenth season of The Ultimate Fighter, capped the telecast with a one-minute TKO finish of Brock Lesnar training partner Chris Tuchscherer. Ricardo Romero made a comeback of sorts to submit Seth Petruzelli via armbar in the opening bout of the telecast.
Additionally, the July 2 broadcast of the UFC 116 weigh-in ceremonies, the first-ever such broadcast for Spike TV, drew 645,000 viewers.
