UFC 100 Draws in $5.1M Gate; Nightly Award Winners Earn $100K

The UFC fell just shy of its best-ever Nevada gate, with 11,000 fans spending $5.1 million at the box office in ticket sales for UFC 100 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center.

The all-time best gate in Nevada came back in 2007, when UFC 66 drew just shy of $5.4 million at the MGM Grand, which it should be noted holds more fans than UFC 100’s host arena.

The cash haul along with the expected excellent pay-per-view buy rate allowed the UFC to increase the nightly prizes given for “Fight of the Night,” “Knockout of the Night” and “Submission of the Night.” The winners of each were awarded $100,000. That is the biggest prize the UFC has ever awarded.

Alan Belcher and Yoshihiro Akiyama won the night’s best fight award for their three-round war which kicked off the television portion of the card.

The KO award went to Dan Henderson, who scored one of the most devastating one-punch finishes in UFC history with a right cross against Michael Bisping.

And finally, the night’s best submission award went to Tom Lawlor, who needed just 55 seconds to put CB Dollaway to sleep with a guillotine choke in a preliminary matchup.
