ESSEN, Germany – GLORY, the world’s largest kickboxing organization, is back this weekend with another action-packed event. GLORY 83 takes place this Saturday, February 11, at Grugahalle and will feature two world title bouts.
Light heavyweight champion Sergej Maslobojev (36-5, 21 KO) will defend his title against top ranked contender Donegi Abena (25-9, 6 KO) of France in the main event. This is a rematch between the duo after the Lithuanian was awarded a split decision win at “GLORY: Collision 3.”
The reigning defending middleweight champion Donovan Wisse (17-1, 10 KO) will put his crown on the line in a rematch in the co-main event against heavy-hitting Brazilian Cesar Almeida (47-7-1).
Wisse is on six-fight win streak in GLORY since 2019 with the Surinamese fighter registering impressive wins over Jason Wilnis, Yousri Belgaroui and Matej Penaz. However, during this run it was Cesar Almeida who arguably pushed him the furthest, losing by majority decision to the champ at GLORY Collision 2 in 2019.
Also featuring on the card is a middleweight bout between top-five contenders Serkan Ozcaglayan (44-7, 35 KO) and Sergej Braun (43-11, 27 KO) and perennial lightweight contender Guerric Billet (36-6-1, 15 KO) will meet Cihad Akipa (49-10, 18 KO).
