Twitter reacts to UFC Fight Night 101 main event

An MMA card appearing on paper to be stellar can disappoint, and an unheralded card can overflow with “HOLY F@$%ING $#!@” moments. UFC Fight Night 101 was not the best card on paper, and by the time the main event rolled around, it had a record-tying number of decisions.

However, the main event delivered.

Derek Brunson applied enough wild pressure to create a diamond, and Robert Whittaker came back with the KO. The New Zealand native is now on a six-fight win streak and is undefeated at 185. He told Jon Anik he wants a title shot next. That will not happen, but one more fight, and it may very well. At just 25 Whittaker is a bright, bright prospect at middleweight.
