When the UFC announced the terms of the new Reebok deal, professionals in the MMA space reacted on Twitter, from the positive to the bitterly negative.

khabib nurmagomedov @TeamKhabib

Now are sport on a different level with the @Reebok deal

javier mendez ‏@akajay

Proud to have @Reebok join my Family 🙂 @TeamKhabib @BrochuKevin

Scott jorgensen @Scottjorgensen

Checked my email to good news! 21 in the books with zuffa. Thank you

Cody Gibson @TheRenegade559

The Reebok payout is comparable to what many entry level fighters make in sponsors. I can’t speak for veterans.

Robert Whiteford @Flyinjudoka

Reebok sponsorship deal is more money than I got paid fighting on European shows, would I like more $$$ hell yea but who wouldn’t

Sarah Kaufman @mmasarah

Definitely need to get more fights booked…according to what counts, I’m only at 6 since 2011…definitely not enough!!

Guilherme Cruz ‏@guicruzzz

UFC 187 fighters would have made a combined 267.5k if the Reebok deal was already working (main card 200k, prelims 67.5k).

Ben Fowlkes ‏@benfowlkesMMA

•If Reebok deal kicked in today, most UFC Fight Night 65 fighters would get $2,500.

•In the main event? Mark Hunt and Stipe Miocic would each pocket $5k in sponsors. Again, that’s for the main event.

Derek Brunson @DerekBrunson

Why complain about something if you don’t plan on doing something about it!

Colby Covington @ColbyCovMMA

I focus on what I can control not what I can’t.

Ryan Benoit @BabyfaceBenoit

I have done very well in sponsorship for my 2ufc bouts but sponsorship is just a bonus. I get paid to beat my opponents ass

STORMIN NORMAN PARKE @norman_parke

You are paid to fight end of.. Stop bitching about sponsorship

 Aljamain Sterling @FunkMaster_UFC

•I understand the reasoning given for the Reebok deal, but the deal has to make sense for at least 80% of the fighters in regards to tiers

•For me, I barely got any sponsorship money, but Im ok w/not whoring myself out to 6-7 companies to look NASCAR. New system= half my earnings

•I’m 3 fights in and will make half the $$ I get now, which is already crap.

Roger Narvaez @Silverback316

•Wow 2500$ for my next fight for reebok sponsorship. ….i mad twice that off 1 sponsor my last fight!!!! Sucks!

•just hurts because I have great sponsors that have always financially helped….it’s going to be hard on fighters

•understand what theUFC trying to do…those numbers just hurt fighters like me who spend 2-3k on fight camp just getting prep

Brendan Schaub @BrendanSchaub

I’ve made six figures in sponsorship in each of my last 6 fights

Tim Kennedy @TimKennedyMMA

•Dear @ufc Am I to understand that for my exclusive apparel sponsorship I’ll make $2,500? I’ll pass. Thanks for the generous offer. #reebok

•@ScottCoker Hey Scott, miss your face.

Matt Mitrione @mattmitrione

Congrats @Reebok, you got the deal of the century. Unfortunately, it was at the cost of the fighters. Hope the bad press is worth it.
