Twitter reacts to McGregor’s retiremet, removal from UFC 200
With the crazy news, Twitter was a buzz with shocked reactions and plenty of fighters volunteering to step up and fight Nate Diaz at UFC 200.
Earlier today Conor McGregor tweeted that he was retiring. The internet broke, but most fans and media thought it was some kind of joke.

While from a fan perspective pre fight media duties are interesting to a degree, to a fighter, they are a distraction. However, for the promotion, they are everything – it is what puts asses in seats. From that perspective, it is what happens in the fight that is the afterthought, as everyone has already bought their tickets and PPVs.
In short, fighter failure to meet media duties is a big deal.
Then UFC President Dana White appeared on ESPN and confirmed that Conor McGregor had been pulled from UFC 200 confirming that there was indeed some turmoil between the fighter and the organization. Whether or not McGregor is actually retired, White said you would have to ask the fighter.
McGregor was scheduled to fight Nate Diaz at UFC 200 and responded to the news on Twitter in the way only a Diaz brother could:
