In the main event of UFC Fight Night 67 Carlos Condit made his return to the Octagon after more than a year away dealing with a knee injury. After a competitive first round, Condit took over in the second landing a nasty elbow that broke the nose of Thiago Alves and from there Condit turned it on taking Alves down and continuing to punish him until the end of the round. The doctor halted the bout in between rounds, declaring Condit the winner and his impressive performance was meet with praise from his peers, fans, and media on Twitter:
