At this past weekend’s UFC 179, Jose Aldo defended his featherweight title against Chad Mendes in what earned ‘Fight of the Night’ honors. The fight was action packed and featured both fighters with highlight worthy moments. Ultimately Aldo would prevail and keep his title, but as the fight occurred, Twitter exploded with praise for the two athletes:

@BR_MMA: Aldo comes out firing. Big combos but Mendes doesn’t retreat. Straight left from Mendes puts Aldo on his back momentarily…whoa.
