TEAM CLAUDIA’S AMANDA COOPER (1-1) VS. TEAM JOANNA’S JAMIE MOYLE (3-1)
Round 1 – Cooper circles and pumps the jab but Moyle is the aggressor and is landing bigger strikes in combination. Moyle connects with several hard shots then works inside for the clinch. Cooper fends off the first takedown attempt and a battle ensues from inside the clinch. They reverse position several times before Cooper breaks free. Moyle lands a leg kick and continues to pressure forward. Cooper begins to find her timing and is counterpunching Moyle as she comes in to attack. Cooper smashes Moyle in the chest with a body kick and is beginning to tee off with punches and kicks. Cooper backs Moyle up with a right hook and is gaining confidence. Moyle turns the tables with a single-leg takedown that puts Cooper on her back. Cooper immediately throws her legs up for a triangle choke but Moyle shakes her off. Moyle advances to half guard but Cooper recovers and nearly sweeps her way to top. Moyle gets back in half guard and finishes the round with some strikes.
Round 2 – They exchange right away and Cooper is putting hard hands on Moyle’s face. She throws an ill-advised body kick, though, which is caught by Moyle and turned into a takedown. Moyle is half guard but struggles to advance to mount. Instead,she takes side control but Cooper scrambles and kicks her off. Cooper gets back to her feet but decides to clinch and is nearly taken down. Cooper lands a vicious knee to the face from the clinch that hurts Moyle. She connects with elbows, one of which opens a huge cut beside Moyle’s eye, and knees to the body before Moyle desperately attempts to take it to the ground. Cooper rejects her advance, though, and uses the weak attempt to get on top. She begins to batter Moyle with elbows from on top. Cooper advances to side control and unleashes a brutal flurry of elbows and punches that put Moyle in serious danger of being stopped. The massive gash beside Moyle’s left eye is leaking blood but somehow she survives more than two minutes of Cooper’s relentless attack and lasts until the final round.
