The Ultimate Fighter is one of the longest running reality television series in history. But there were a widespread sense that it needed a shake up.
It has been rumored for some time that TUF 21 would be team vs. team, with American Top Team vs. The Blackzilians mentioned by Sherdog’s Greg Savage, FRB, and others.
Today MMA Fight Radio‘s Jay Pagliaro said he had confirmed the news with multiple sources from both camps. Further, Pagliaro said the show would film not at the TUF training center in Las Vegas, but in South Florida. The Blackzilians are based in Boca Raton, Florida. The massive ATT chain is headquartered in Coconut Creek, Florida. The gyms are just 20 mins from each other.
Coaches for the opposing teams are said to be ATT co-founder Ricardo Liborio and Blackzilians head striking coach Henri Hooft. The division for TUF 21 will be welterweight.
There are also reports that the show will air on UFC Fight Pass, rather than its current home at FOX Sports 1.
